36 Lion Football Club started their campaign on a good note following their 3-2 victory over SC Athletics in the group A of the ongoing Jagaban Cup which kicked off early today at the FIFA astro turf football pitch,Surulere, Lagos.
The competition is a scouting football programme featuring eight teams.No fewer than ten foreign scouts were in attendance to watch all the matches held early today in Lagos.
Uche Emeribe opened the goal scoring in the 15th minutes to give 36 Lion early lead before Azuka Alantan got the second goal in the 26th minutes.
The two goals spurred the SC Athletic to keep pressure on their opponents and their effort was rewarded when Okwosa Chukwudi reduced the tally in the 46th minutes.
Both teams gave a good account of themselves in the second half as Micheal Hunsa scored a winning goal for 36 Lion to confirm their supremacy over the opponents.
Reacting to the victory,36 Lion Coach, Opetemi Oladipo admitted the toughness of the game but assured his fans better outing in their subsequent matches.
He commended his boys for their determination and doggedness exhibited throughout the encounter boasting that his target is to see his team winning their remaining matches.
In other results, Ikorodu City overcame Smart City 3-2,FC Bethel lost 0-1 to Klassisc FC, while Broad City hammered Mavlon FC 5-2.
Action resumes on Friday as SGFC Athletics battle FC Bethel, Smart City tackle Mavlon, Klassisc FC confront 36 Lion, while Broad City face Ikorodu City in the last match.
