Irepodun Street Win Adaamasunle Foundation Community Games In Lagos

It was a celebration galore for the residents of Irepodun street when their team emerged as champions of the inaugural edition of Adaamasunle Foundation Community Games held recently at Aboru pipeline playground, Iyana-Ipaja, Alimosho, Lagos.

The community ganes was organised and sponsored by Adaamasunle Foundation headed by Adeola Olaleye.

Bowling, Netball and Picture puzzle involved in the community games.

A total of 12 streets took part in one day event witnessed by mammoth crowd, invited guests and community leaders.

In the overall results released by the match officials, Irepodun came first with 128 points, Oluwalose street occupied second position with 111 points, while OTF came third with 109 points.

Speaking with our correspondent, Olaleye expressed gratitude to God for the success of the community games saying that he did not expect mammoth crowd to watch the events.

He said the community games was the first of its kind in Alimosho noted that the objectives of the games is to bring streets together in the community and ensure that the youths are fully engaged through sporting activities.

“Honestly I am fulfilled as organisers and sponsor to see the success of the community games. I conceived this idea of this games some months ago and to the glory of God, it was accepted by the streets.

“Having seen the success of this game, I hereby announce that the next edition would hold on December and i am looking forward to increasing the number of entries. I congratulate the overall winner of this inaugural edition and i believe that the next edition would be better,” he said.

During the final presentation, winners went home with six cartoons of indomie and pack of exercise books while first runner up and second runner up went home with a cartoon of indomie and exercise books.
