India have the highest number of foreign athletes who will be jostling for top finish in the 7th edition of the Lagos Badminton Classic which has kicked off today with a total list of 22 athletes out of the 52 foreign athletes participating in the annual event.
The ever present Asian side who have dominated the men and women doubles in the last five editions will be looking forward to sustaining their performance in this edition.
Nigeria’s neigbour, Benin Republic are second on the list with 10 athletes, while the UAE and Ghana have 4 athletes each while Vietnam will be having 3 representatives.
Canada and France will have 2 athletes representing them in the annual showpiece while Germany, Sri Lanka, USA, England and Equatorial Guinea are represented by one athlete each.
Host country, Nigeria, will have 66 athletes taking part in this edition of the championship as the preliminary stage continues today at the Molade Okoya Thomas Indoor Sports Hall of the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere, Lagos.
