Members of Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) Lagos chapter are celebrating with the newly sworn in President of Nigeria, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and the Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu who on Monday was inaugurated for his second term in office.
Executive Chairman of Lagos SWAN, Ms Olatutu Oladunni, while congratulating both Tinubu and Sanwo-Olu on behalf of members of the association in Lagos State, said that Tinubu is taken over the reign of the most populous country in Africa when his service to the people is most needed, adding that the former governor of Lagos State has every quality to succeed as the Nigerian President.
Oladunni noted that as a leader, who has vast experience of Nigeria’s political environment over the years, Lagos SWAN strongly believe in his ability to deliver.
According to her, Nigerian sports would experience a new lease of life during the administration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu because it’s on record that sports in Lagos richly benefited when Tinubu was the governor of the state for two terms.
While congratulating Governor Sanwo-Olu on his Inauguration for second term in office on Monday, Lagos SWAN enjoined him to do more for the sports sector in the next four years more that what he did in his first tenure.
“Just like Oliver Twist, we can always ask for more from our sports loving governor to do more for sports in Lagos. We know that youth development is dear to his heart, and all round development of sports is what we are asking for during this second tenure,” Olatutu said.
