The Imo State University Alumni Association (IMSUAA) under the leadership of Dr. Charles Nwosu are likely to inaugurate a new chapter before her forthcoming National Convention/Home Coming scheduled to hold from August 14th- 17th, 2025.
A statement from the Publicity Secretary, Sinikiem Ayoko, on March 25, stated that the President of IMSUAA Dr. Charles Nwosu, General Secretary- Dr. Majesty Duru and Financial Secretary Assumpta Obinna-Ibeh were recently involved in an online meeting on March 23rd, 2025 with a group of Imo Stars who are based in Delta State.
The statement further confirmed that activities are already bubbling in Delta as the group of Imo Stars who converged under the umbrella of IMSUAA are looking forward to becoming one of the full-fledged chapters of IMSUAA before the National Convention/Homecoming.
Further details confirmed that while NEC representatives monitored the online session, a Six-man Steering Committee was set-up by the Delta forces to see to the realization of their dreams ahead of the June mandate recommended by NEC when a substantive State Executive Council (SEC) is expected to be in place.
Members of the Six-man Steering Committee are Dr. Chukwuka Martins Wealth- Chairman, Nkechi Anyaoha- Vice chairman, Mrs Chika Ohaka – Financial Secretary, Chidozie Udenwoke-Treasurer, Kate Ugochi Akinkunmi – PRO and Awelekama Onoselase (Ifey) as Secretary.
While congratulating and charging members of the steering committee to ensure that they deliver within the time-frame, the President, Dr. Nwosu reminded them that consolidation/Follow Up on the start of New Chapters is among the items in the Administrative Outlook of the NEC for the year 2025 as approved by the Board of Trustees (BOT).
A delighted Nwosu who is optimistic that the Delta project will be completed soon, further hinted of concerted efforts made towards accomplishing similar milestones in Nasarawa, Anambra and other States.
If the Delta Chapter project is achieved by the end of June, then they will be One month and 14days old as at when the National Convention/ Homecoming will take place in August, 2025.
