The Anambra State Chapter of the Imo State University Alumni Association (IMSUAA) has gotten a major boost as the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs in Anambra State, Hon. Collins Nwabunwannwe has backed the chapter on membership drive in the state.
According to a statement issued by the Acting PRO of the Anambra Chapter of IMSUAA, Chioma Nnubia, it stated that the feat was one of the positive accomplishment achieved by the Chapter when they paid a courtesy visit to the Commissioner on Tuesday.
“A significant outcome of the meeting was the commissioner’s commitment to support Imo Stars membership drive” the statement highlighted. “This collaboration could lead to increased engagement and growth within the organization”.
No doubt, Anambra is close to Imo (Home Chapter) and there are possibilities that Imo Stars who graduated from the Imo State University and are settled in Anambra may be looking up to having a rallying point where they could reunite with colleagues from the Imo State University and this move is a step in right direction.
While still building on the already forged relationship between the gingered steering executives in Anambra Chapter, the statement further added that Hon. Nwabunwannwe further enjoined IMSUAA in Anambra to give strong considerations towards hosting an event in Anambra to enable them foster stronger relationship with local communities in the state.
The courtesy visit has also opened the bridge for further networking for Imo Stars in Anambra, as the steering committee will be looking forward to sustaining their efforts with further positive activities which will help them ahead of the forthcoming IMSUAA Convention when they will make their debut as a Chapter.
The delegation to the Hon. Commissioner was led by Nkechinyere Chinyere(Acting Chairman) with Martin Buchi, Paschal Onyejaka, Chioma Nnubia (Acting PRO) in attendance. Also present are the Chairman of Abịa Chapter, Franklin Diala and Igwe Ike Nibo from neighbouring Enugu Chapter.
