As the Lagos Divisional Football Associations Elections are drawing nearer, second vice chairman of Lagos State Football Coaches Association, Adeleke Ibiyemi Alegunleye, has declared his intention to contest for the chairmanship position in the forthcoming Ikorodu Divisional Football Association Elections.
The elections into five divisions in Lagos would hold on 17 May at the LSFA secretariat.
Adeleke popularly known as Coach Pepper stated in the release sent to correspond that he is coming out because of the passion he has for the football development and his vast experience in football management and administration.
“I am contesting for the chairmanship of Ikorodu Divisional Football Association passionately to add to the development and create more opportunities to the footballers, coaches and other football stakeholders in Ikorodu and environs.
“Secondly my strong plan is to continue the great works in Ikorodu football and make it more delightful and better not to the fans alone but to all football stakeholders in Ikorodu. If I am elected as the chairman of Ikorodu divisional football association, I promise to uplift the development of football in Ikorodu and ensure that Ikorodu division would be the leading division, while others follow in Lagos,” he said.
“I am a lover of football stakeholders in Ikorodu and i have been coaching for many years and i have seen the laspses in Ikorodu where i need to work upon.As a coach, I will give everybody opportunity in my administration and ensure that refrees play a big role in my tenure.
“Also my focus will be on on grassroot football players and ensure that there are solid programmes for U-13, 15, 17 throughout my tenure so that we can have more players at the national teams through the support of our National Football Coaches and state FA. Also I will support female football and ensure that they are carried along in all our programmes,” says Adeleke who is a NIS certified coach.
Th Ikorodu based football coach said he would also consider divisional teams, NLO teams and NNL teams from Ikorodu in his administration saying that during his own tenure, football would be better.
