Ikorodu City Ride Over Inter Lagos To Retain FA Cup Title

*FC Robo Are Women’s Champions

A Lagos-based NNL team, Ikorodu City Football Club have retained Lagos State Challenge Cup title won last year.

Ikorodu City defeated Inter Lagos FC 2-0 in the final of Lagos State Challenge Cup held on Sunday evening at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena popularly known as Onikan Stadium.

Uzondu Austin opened the goal scoring through header in the 28th minutes.Both teams played purposeful football as two teams entertained the fans with football artistry.

The two teams raised their game in the second half but a penalty was awarded to Ikorodu City and quickly converted by Tosin Oyedokunle to make it second goal for Ikorodu boys.

Effort by Inter Lagos to reduce the tally was abortive as their opponents ran away with the victory.

In the female final, FC Robo hammered Danaaz Ladies 4-1 to retain the title for 14 times.

The finalists in both categories would represent the state at the Federation Cup.
