Head Coach of Starlight Football Academy, Williams Olaide has dedicated the title won at the just concluded Ikeja DFA U-15 Lions Youth League to his player, Tobi Gospel who sustained injury during the encounter.
Starlight defeated Schimchi Academy 1-0 in the league playoff to emerge as the overall winners of the league.
The league final which was held over the weekend saw Lagos State vice chairman, Dotun Coker with some invited football stakeholders in attendance.
Olaide while chatting with our correspondent said the victory was well deserved and commended his players for their commitment throughout the league.
“The victory was a collective effort of the players and coaching crew but let me particularly commend my boys for their discipline and commitment shown throughout the league.
“However I dedicate this our title to one of our best players, Tobi Gospel for his resilience and dedication. Unfortunately he could not finish the game because he had an injury during the game. He was attended to by the medical personnel and is in good condition now,” he said.
Chairman of Ikeja Divisional Football Association IDFA, Rafiu Alagbe thanked the invited guests and other football stakeholders for honouring their invitations and commended the finalists for the job well done.
