Igando Ramadan Football Tourney Enters Knockout Stage In Lagos

No fewer than 16 teams have booked their place in the second round of the ongoing Igando Ramadan Cup taking place at the Proposed Palace playground, Igando,Alimosho,Lagos.

A total of 24 teams began the race and 16 teams have qualified for the second round(Round of 16 )which begins tomorrow (Friday)

In a fixtures released by the organisers on Wednesday evening, Sterling City FC face Kings FC by 4:30pm

Two matches lined up on Saturday while IGFC tackle White Soccer feeders by 2:30pm as Sharp Strikers battle Unity FC by 4:30pm

Action resumes on Sunday afternoon when Sammy FC face White Soccer FC by 2:30pm as Asemalu confront Wolves by 4:30 pm.On Monday Young Stars FC tackle Sansan Boys by 4:30pm

The remaining two matches would hold at Ejigbo sports center,Isolo by next Wednesday as eight teams are still fighting for the round of 16 stage.

Chairman organising committee,Prince Sulaiman Gbadamonsi commended the teams for the spirit of sportsmanship displayed since competition kicked off and urged them to always abide by the rules governing the game.

“The tournament has lived up to billing and we thank God for injury free among the players.The fans comported themselves in orderly manner during the tournament and I must commend the members of the committee for the job well done.

“Presently the competition has reached the crucial stage and we want to appeal to the teams to see this competition as a friendly and if any coach or club manager wants to complain, they should channel their grievances to the committee rather than insulting match officials or organisers during or after the match,”he said.
