Main sponsor of the ongoing Henry Nwosu Cup 2024/25 Mr Nacho Urewuji has named his favourite and also announced financial reward for the team if they win the trophy.
Mr Urewuji who fielded question from our correspondent from his base in Europe revealed this in a chat while naming his favourite team for the trophy.
“I tip Umuakali to win the trophy” Urewuji started. “They are my favourite and I believe they can win it” he added.
“If Umuakali wins this trophy, I will give them three hundred thousand naira (N300,000)” he further added saying it’s all up to the players to make a decision on the field of play.
Sadly, Umuakali are yet to win a single game in this tournament despite reaching the semifinal. They have had two draws in their two games and reached the semifinal with two points from those two games.
When probed on motive for his decision to sponsor this edition of the Henry Nwosu Cup, Mr Urewuji revealed that his perception of entertaining the Naze community prompted this and added that next year will be greater.
“I just want to keep the entire village bubbling during this Christmas period and bring back the glory and motive behind the Henry Nwosu Cup” he added.
“I have no regret for sponsoring this but there is going to be greater plans for next year edition and I believe it’s going to be better” he concluded.
