Members of Green House were in wild jubilation after their house was declared the overall champions at the just concluded 19th edition of the Vicsum Private Schools Inter House Athletics Competition.
The annual competition which held last Friday at the school premises,Omole Phase,Ikeja 2,Lagos saw five houses competed for the honours.
Prior to the Inter House Athletics Competition,Green House was impressive at the decided events which gave them due advantage over other houses at the Inter House Athletics Competition.
After fiver hours of fierce battle among the houses, Green House came first with 20 gold,17, silver and 21 bronze medals.Yellow House maintain second position with 14 gold,13 silver and 9 bronze medals.
Pink House that emerged champions last year occupied third position with 13 gold,18 silver and 11 bronze medals, while Red House came fourth position with 13 gold,13 silver and 9 bronze medals as Blue House maintain fifth position with 11 gold, 16 silver and 12 bronze medals.
Speaking after the champions was emerged, proprietress of Viscum Private Schools, Chief Mrs Olusunmola Adefuye expressed gratitude to God for the success of the annual school Inter House Athletics Competition.
She also commended the students, teachers and management staff for their commitment to make this year’s edition a memorable one.
“I thank God for the success of Inter House Athletics Competition.All the houses have done well in their preparation.Let me commend the champions, Green House that emerged as champions.It shows that they are the best house in this year and and they should be magnanimous in their victory,”she said.
Speaking in the same vein, principal of the school, Agnes Agbo praised the participating houses for their impressive performance and congratulated the winners for the job well done.
She explained that the Inter House Athletics Competition was organised to keep the students fit and exercise their body and reminded the parents to encourage their children to involve in the sporting activities.
She disclosed that this year’s edition was a huge success as a result of superb organisation on the part of the management staff and support of the parents and guardians.
While chairman sports committee,Oladimeji Oluremi also showered praises on the participating house for their superlative performance saying that the best house has emerged as champions.
