Abiola Tenigbola was born to the late Ganiyu Olalekan and Risikat Tolani Ojelabi in ibadan, Oyo state. She had her primary and secondary schools at the Ijokodo Community Primary School, Ijokodo, Ibadan, Mount Olivet Grammar School, Asi-Bodija, Ibadan, Oyo State and Sheperdhill Girls High School, now Baptist Girls Academy, Obanikoro, Lagos.
She went to the prestigious University of Ibadan where she graduated with a degree in Special Education specializes in Audiology, Speech and Language Pathology.
Abiola Tenigbola is currently a Senior Audiologist at the University of Ilorin in Kwara State.
Interestingly, while in the secondary school starting from Mount Olivet Grammar School, she joined the school’s football team right from her Junior Secondary School (JSS) 1 despite having big and robust bodily physique.
While also at the Shepherd Hll Girls High School in Lagos she did a whole lot of things, joining the Muslim Society, the school’s football team. She was the coordinator of cultural and dramatic society in her JSS 2 class and the Games Prefect in her SSS 3.
“I danced and sang for the cultural group. In fact, we used to go for outings. I remember we sang for Olagunsoye Oyinlola, the then military governor of Lagos state. In fact, I can still remember the song,” said Abiola Tenigbola, fondly call God’s Own Daughter (G.O.D) in one of our interactions lately.
“At the University of Ibadan, I was everywhere. I was a member of JCI and was made then Waheed Smith Gbolahun Head in my 300 Level. I was on the department editorial board and was the Editor in Chief when I was in 200L and 300L, I was the social director, and 400L, I contested as the secretary of the NAESA but loss. But was then the majority leader of my department at the Faculty level (Department Representatives Council). I was on the electoral committee in my 300L.
“At my resumption at the University of Ilorin for employment, I joined the table tennis team and athletics. In 2014, I won a medal in a marathon race tournament.
“In the All University Staff Games hosted by the University of Benin. I won five medals and was given awards of *Best Sport Woman of the Year* at the University Staff Games hosted by the University of Ilorin in 2018,” she said.
She decided to take her talent in acting to the next level when she joined a standard drama ministry. She confessed one day that she had been acting from the womb.
She joined the Foursquare District Drama group, Ikorodu, Lagos.
“My first camera appearance movie was “Raging Curse” where I acted as a witch. I went to Mount Zion Institute in 2012 and featured in some Mount Zion movies such as “Dead End”, “The Destitute”, “Lost Identity”, “Josephine”, “Fatal exchange”, and others.
“After that, I featured in many movies and stage ministrations with PRODRAM, PREM (FEJOS BABA), GIGEM, GOGEM, PCM, and others I can’t remember now.
“I have a ministry that the Lord committed to my hands, the “Triumphant Warriors Aglow Film Productions”, and by God’s grace, I have produced more than three movies, one is on YouTube now, while two are still in post production due to finance.”
The God’s Own Daughter is also giving back to humanity with a Foundation that the Lord has committed to her hands.
She said: “I have a Foundation, “Stand Against Rape Foundation”, but the name was rejected at the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), so, I am searching for an acceptable name to register the foundation with.”
Abiola Tenigbola has seen life and have stories to tell as a sickle cell patient. Despite this, she remarkable achievements to add to her credentials.
Every experience she had has transformed her into the woman she is today.
