It’s one year today, since the Glasgow 2026 Organising Company was established, preparations for the 23rd Commonwealth Games have gathered remarkable momentum. The team has grown rapidly, supported by partners and stakeholders committed to delivering a world-class sporting spectacle.
Over the past twelve months, Glasgow has achieved several key milestones — from being officially announced as host city to unveiling the Games’ brand identity and leadership team. The Organising Company also revealed a record-breaking sports programme featuring 47 Para events, the largest integrated Para sport schedule in Commonwealth Games history.

His Majesty the King launched the inaugural King’s Baton Relay on Commonwealth Day 2025, while local schoolchildren, known as “Mascot Makers,” created Finnie, the proud unicorn mascot. Venue upgrades began at Scotstoun Stadium, the official Games tartan was unveiled, and partnerships with Trespass and Trivandi were confirmed to strengthen operations and delivery.
The volunteer recruitment drive, site visits from Commonwealth Games Associations, and the ticketing launch have further set the stage for what promises to be an inclusive and unforgettable celebration of sport and culture.
With one year to go, Glasgow 2026 stands poised to deliver one of the most exciting Commonwealth Games of the decade—rooted in Scottish pride, innovation, and community spirit.
