Sporting Lagos Football Academy forced Prince Kazeem Eletu Football Academy to 1-1 draw in a friendly match played on Thursday at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena popularly known as Onikan Stadium.
The friendly match was one of the toughest game of Eletu Boys in the new season.They almost ran away with victory before Abuchi Lawrence of Sporting Lagos equalised through a shot from the left wing in 58th minutes.
The encounter started on a brighter note for Eletu boys who were at their best against visiting team.Some scoring chances were created by the both teams but failed to convert.
A good run from Jude Obasi at the right flank and sent a diagonal cross was superbly converted by Imran Adebayo to give the homer a lead in the 32th minutes.
Sporting Lagos who could not penetrate into the box eighteen yard of Prince Kazeem Eletu boys in the first half made several changes in the second half before they finally got their equaliser.
Speaking after the match, Sporting Lagos coach, Theophilus Caleb expressed satisfaction with the intensity of the game and commended both teams for the job well done.
“It was high intensity match for us.Eletu gave us a serious fight and I must commend them for their football display.I also commend my boys too because they played to expectations especially in the second half because we had a better chance to win the game towards the end of the game,”,he said.
In his own comment, Eletu coach, Israel Adegolu said his boys quickly adapted to his tactical formation and praised them for showing resilience especially in the second half.
“Of course I need to thumb up my boys for their brilliant performance.They got it right today (Thursday) and if we continue in this way, we would become a formaidable team in Lagos.Our opponents were equally a good side they made some changes in the second half which they salvaged draw.If I may say, we did better and I still expect more for my boys in our subsequent matches.
Commenting on the match, team manager of Eletu boys, Eletu Muftau admitted the toughness of the match saying that they are ready to play more tough teams within and if possible outside the state.
“I am happy for the performance of our boys.Today, they proved to Lagos fans that Prince Kazeem Eletu boys are back and better and our performance against Sporting Lagos is commendable and I am looking forward to the toughest teams like this in coming days,”he said.
