Last month,Oki defeated Tade Azeez 13-1 to emerge as the newly elected Chairman of Lagos State Football Association held at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena (formerly known as Onikan Stadium), Lagos.
As a technocrat with the wherewithal to pilot the affairs of the footballing state-Centre of Excellence, Oki’s approach and movement in the development of football, particularly at the grassroots level is yielding a positive result.
The summons of meetings and Congress coming up with frameworks and channelling energies into the developmental programmes in multidimensional approach top the agenda.
As someone with the requisite knowledge in the organised sector the administration and management of football under his watch will receive astronomical growth.
He has vowed to rejig and revive the administration of football in areas such as Street Soccer Tournament,J-League, IBILE Cup, Principal Cup and Oba Cup and unflinching support to other transformation programmes geared towards development of youths in the state.
As a state known with the trajectory records in developmental programmes which prioritized in harnessing talents and increasing mass participation through the school system.Oki assures that he will use his good office and available avenues to drive the wheel of football in the state by creating an enviable platforms for youths to achieve their potential and other ancillaries in football.
As part of efforts to deepen football development at the grassroots and for effective co-ordination of activities in the state, Local Football Council has been established to consolidate on the existing five divisions which comprises Ikeja,Badagry,Ikorodu, Lagos and Epe.
