Football fans would enjoy a good football when Bucknor Football Club and Future Stars Football Club clash in one of the quarter finals scheduled for Wednesday afternoon by 2pm in the ongoing Football Fiesta taking place at the Proposed Palace playground, Igando, Alimosho, Lagos.
Both teams are currently in the State League and also they are rivals as far as football is concerned in Alimosho and its environs.
The competition is home and away format and Bucknor would play at home on Wednesday afternoon and a win for Bucknor would give them advantage in the return leg.
On the other hands, Future Stars would is a tough team and they have done well in the competition. Future Stars would enjoy its home support to upset their opponents.
The match would be a star match of this week because Future Stars eliminated Bucknor at the just concluded Odunmbaku Gold Cup in the group stage and their opponents are coming to revenge the defeat suffered against them in the Odunmbaku Gold Cup.
Speaking ahead of today’s clash, Future Stars Coach, Femi Micheal admitted that the match would be tough saying that they are ready to face their opponents with full determination.
“it is going to be a tough game but we are prepared for this battle.We are not going to take anything for granted.We respect our opponents but we are not afraid of them. We are rivals and any rivalry match is always a tough battle,” he said.
In the other quarter final first leg results, Supreme FC lost 0-1 to Sunday Sunday All Stars, while Sansan Boys defeated Keep Fit FC 2-0.
Tournament coordinator, Habeeb Bello commended the committee for their commitment to the competition and promised the participating teams fair officiating throughout the tournament.
