Head coach of Flexy Soccer Football Academy, Washington Egor has expressed disappointment and sadness following 10 goals his team conceded against Prince Kazeem Eletu Football Academy in a friendly match played on Thursday morning at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena formally known as Onikan Stadium.
The encounter ended in 10-1 in favour of Prince Kazeem Eletu Academy.
Egor who was depressed and shocked with the outcome of the result admitted that their opponents were very impressive and deserved to win the encounter.
“It was a poor outing for us because my team had never conceded wide margin result like this in my coaching career.We met a solid team who are mobile on the ball and compact in the midfield.
“My boys gave their best but I must say that our best is not enough.My boys lacked finishing and their recovery on the ball was not too good.We quickly lose possession to our opponents which contributed to our disastrous outing.
“Having said this, i think my boys have learned a lot from this game and we will go back home to correct our mistakes before our next friendly match.I congratulate Eletu for this impressive performance and i believe that they are academy that other teams can learn from in term of their pattern of play and approach to the game,”he said.
Also speaking, Flexy socxer Chairman, Lateef Olateju said the friendly match was an eye opener to the players and coaching crew saying that the opponents really exposed his team’s weaknesses.
“I am not too worried about the result, it is a friendly match that really exposed our weaknesses which i believe the coaching crew would be corrected.I will continue to support our players, coaching crew and ensure that they are well motivated,”he said.
Olateju revealed that the club would soon be recruited new players to fortify the team ahead of future high profile football tournaments.
Reacting to the victory, Eletu coach, Isreal Adegolu said his players did well but reminded them that they still need to work hard in all their subsequent matches.
Meanwhile Abayomi Eletu opened the goal account for Eletu in the 13th minutes to set the ball rolling.Eletu who were superb in the encounter saw Raymond Oboh recorded his goal to make it two goals up in favour of Eletu.
The opponents began to fight back but their effort was not enough as Wasiu Paraiso scored the third goal in the 38th minutes.
The second half witnessed more goals as homers continued in its scoring prowess when Paraiso hit another target to make if fourth goal for Eletu.
The introduction of Chinedu Emmanuel quickly yielded result as he scored two goals to make it six goals for the Eletu boys who were on rampage against their opponents.
Promise Victor who was also introduced hit a target to make it seventh goal in the 68th minutes.Flexy soccer who appeared tired in the encounter finally gave up as they allowed Sulaiman Lawal who was his best finally scored goal number eight for Eletu.
Precious Ogunyashe and Tobiloba scored each to complete the onslaught.
Flexy soccer player was brought down in the 92th minutes and penalty was awarded which quickly converted by David Ikhariale to end the encounter 10-1 in favour of Eletu academy.
