FC Nwosu Lift Nigeria Ex Internationals Cup

FC Nwosu have emerged the champions after defeating FC Ekpo through penalties in the final of Nigeria Ex Internationals Cup which held on Sunday evening at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena popularly known as Onikan Stadium.

The pulsating final, which was watched by mammoth crowd, saw FC Nwosu defeated its opponents 6-5 on penalty shootout after barren draw at the regulation time.

The tournament, which kicked off a month ago across various centres in Lagos is organised by Lagos State Football Association LSFA under the leadership of Liammed Olawale Gafar.

It was a tense match for both teams ias several scoring chances were missed by the two teams before it was decided by penalty shootouts.

Reacting to the victory, FC Nwosu Coach, Henry Nwosu who was a former defunct Green Eagle player expressed joy that his team won the inaugural edition of the tournament and congratulated his boys and coaching crew for the job well done.

In the third place match decided earlier, FC Agali lost 1-2 to FC Agbai.

During the cup presentation, the winners with the sum of N2 million naira with a gian trophy, first runner up pocketed N1 million, while third and fourth position went home with N500,000 and N250,000 respectively.
