FC Nwosu football team would clash with FC Ekpo football team in the final of Ex Internationals Cup which holds on Sunday at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena popularly known as Onikan Stadium, Lagos.
The tournament, whick kicked off a month ago across various centers in Lagos, is packaged and organised by Lagos State Football Association LSFA.
In the semi final matches played on Thursday, FC Nwosu defeated FC Agbai 6-5 on penalty shootout after one goal apiece at the regulation time at the Legacy pitch of national stadium, Surulere, Lagos.
In another semi final match, FC Ekpo humbled FC Agali 2-0 to book a place in the final.
In the encounter between FC Ekpo and FC Agali, Deji Alo opened the goal scoring to take the early lead in the first half.
Agali boys could not find the back of the net as Labi Akinola was delight to watch throughout the encounter.
Richard Sodje scored the second goal to confirm FC Ekpo supremacy over their opponents in the early second half.
Efforts by FC Agali to reduce the tally proved abortive as FC Ekpo defenders stopped their opponents from scoring.
Reacting to the defeat FC Agali, Victor Agali expressed disappointment over the result saying that his boys played below expectations.
“My boys were not at their best today.We lost a match as result of poor performance of my boys.I congratulate FC Ekpo for the job well done and wish them all the best in the final,” he said.
In his own remark, FC Ekpo coach, Friday Ekpo said the victory was well deserved and commended his boys and backroom staff for their commitment since tournament started.
