Despite Olympic Games Flop, Supporters Club Boss, Ikpea Sees Great Future For Super Falcons

BY JOSEPH ODOEKWU

The National Chairman of the Nigeria Football Supporters Club, Rev. (Amb) Samuel Ikpea has called on all Nigerians to tread the path of peace and be more prayerful as the nation witnesses her first day of August, 2024.

Ikpea stated this following the ouster of the Super Falcons and the “hunger protest” which has long been talked about by different organizations from the civil society. He stated that exercising their rights is good but they should ensure they do it peacefully and within the confines of the law.

Ikpea, who spoke through his media aide in Lagos, regretted that the Super Falcons yesterday exited from the ongoing women Olympics in France, but highlighted the takeaways from the tournament.

“Our Super Falcons are out” Ikpea started “but they must not give up ahead of the future”. “I thought tey were going to beat Japan and take advantage, but they could not”.

“That is football for you and at times, some performance gives an opportunity for you to review your approach and I think this is the time for us to prepare our Super Falcons for other competitions and come back again”

“Super Falcons will rise again, and it is good that they broke the 16-year-old record of Nigeria for the Olympics and at least make their presence known. I also congratulate Jennifer Echegini for breaking that 16-year Olympics record by scoring Nigeria’s goal since our last appearance and this means we can do more”.

Ikpea however charged all Nigerian athletes in the Olympics to give good account of themselves and make Nigeria proud in France.

He enjoined Nigerians who are currently in the country to ensure they are peaceful in all their dealings and assured that this situation will surely pass and we shall all live to tell the story of how we survived it.
