A Lagos-based company, Debozgini Nigeria Limited has announced official sponsorship deal with Island Stars Football Academy of Ikoyi as part of the company’s commitment to the grassroots football development in the state.
Speaking at the official presentation of sponsorship deal held recently in Lagos,Mr Taiwo Alaka who is the head of finance and human resources of the company expressed delight with the collaboration deal with the Lagos based football Academy.
He also commended the founder of the Island Stars Football Academy, Victor Akinmoyo for his commitment to the growth and development of the academy since inception.
“I am delighted to announce that Debozgini Nigeria Limited has reached agreement to sponsor Island Stars Football Academy in the period of a time.We are doing this as part of our corporate social responsibility and also as a way of reducing the challenges facing the academy.
“Our sponsorship deal is to assist the Island Stars Football Academy in the areas that are necessary and i believe that our deal with them would go a long way and bring more successes to the academy in the next few months,”he said.
In his response, Akinmoyo thanked the sponsor for its financial commitment and moral support given the academy in the last few months and promised to take Island Stars Football Academy to the next level.
He said the sponsorship deal came at the time when the academy has many developmental training/football management programmes lined up noted that with the kind gesture of Debozgini Nigeria Limited,the academy would quickly activate its progremmes in earnest.
“I would continue to thank Debozgini Nigeria Limited for showing interest in our academy.This is to tell you that people appreciate what we are doing for the kids.This sponsorship deal would spur the management and staff to work hard and ensure that the academy achieve its set targets before this year’s run out,”,he said.
Akinmoyo said the future of the academy is bright saying that some kids from the academy are currently playing in football academies in England and other European countries.
He however disclosed that works are ongoing to ensure that Island Stars Football Academy have base in Abuja and other part of the country.
