The Bright Stars Football Academy (BSFA) has secured significant sponsorship for its inaugural 2025 Season Competition, with three families of players stepping up to back the youth tournament.

The sponsors have donated a full set of trophies and medals for the top four finishing teams in their respective age categories. The finals for all categories are scheduled for Saturday, December 13, 2025, at the FirstBank Sports Complex in Satellite Town, Lagos.

In recognition of their support, the tournament’s age-group trophies have been named in their honour. The U-8 competition will now be known as the Ayangbemi Cup. The Olovo family has lent its name to both the U-10 and U-17 categories (Olovo Cup), while the Okafor family will be associated with the U-15 championship (Okafor Cup).

BSFA Sporting Director, Franklin Ibojo, expressed his gratitude for the community-driven initiative. “We deeply appreciate these families for throwing their weight behind the maiden edition of this competition,” Ibojo stated. “Their contribution is vital to inspiring our young athletes. We call on other parents and guardians to emulate this wonderful gesture.”

Ibojo also took the opportunity to address the participants directly, urging all players to “maintain good conduct and sportsmanship both on and off the pitch.”

The group stage of the intra-academy tournament continues this weekend as the young stars continue their quest for a place in the finals.
