Dr. Nelson Obine, the co-convener of the foremost Conference of Nigeria Trade Associations (CONITA) in a press statement early on Tuesday said they are pleased to announce Princess Jumoke Owoola as one of the Guest Speakers for the forthcoming Conference of Nigerian Trade Associations, rescheduled for 30th October, 2024 at the LCCI Conference and Exhibition Centre in Lagos.
Princess Jumoke Owoola is the Projects Director at the Center for Indigenous Knowledge, Development and Sustainability (CIKDAS) and former aspirant of the Ekiti State House of Assembly under the All Progressives Congress (APC) platform.
Conference theme is “The Nexus of Sustainability, Entrepreneurship and Trade Association”.
Keynote speakers include Prof. Labode Popoola, Co-Chair, Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) Nigeria; Dr. Alex Nwuba, President of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association, Nigeria chapter; Mrs. Taiwo Abiose, Head of Entrepreneurship Department, Lagos Ministry of Wealth Creation & Employment; Mr. Seye Olurotimi, Founder, MSME Africa; Princess Jumoke Owoola, Project Director, Centre for Indigenous Knowledge, Development Sustainability; and Mr. Amechi Obiakpu, Media Practitioner.
Expected Guest of Honour include Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Executive Governor of Lagos State among others.
The 2024 edition of the Conference is a multi-interface seeking to identify economy that advances inclusive economic growth, entrepreneurial sustenance and shared prosperity both for trade associations; recommend and disseminate enabling policies across public and private sector to achieve the common goal of sustainable development.
The Conference is open for free to diverse trade associations and their members, formal and informal entrepreneurs.
The Conference over-time focused on sustainability for trade associations, chambers of commerce and sustainable business in Nigeria with the aim to drive honest conversation and generate dialogue around critical issues.
Conversation are weaved around some of the changes we see in today’s governance and leadership such as challenging economic times, high rate of kidnapping, incessant protests, civil unrest, japa syndrome, volatile gruesome events, deteriorating communities, a growing social divide and rapid-changing technology. Discovering strategies to subdue these risks will be a huge factor for business survival as we strove through the 21st century.
The Conference has so far held five editions since it started in year 2018 with theme “Harnessing the Power of Trade Associations for Good Governance, Inclusive Growth and Shared Prosperity”.
The theme for 2019 was “Convergence of Informal Sector and Trade Associations for Sustainable Development”; Theme of the conference in year 2021 was ‘Governance and Economic Prosperity in a Pandemic World’. Theme for 2022 edition was “The Place of Small and Micro Enterprise for Inclusive Growth and Sustainable Development in Africa; while the theme for the 2023 edition is “Economy for Accelerated Growth and Economic Development in Nigeria” both of them witnessed support and participation from diverse sectors and industry and remained a voice in the drive for sustainable development.
