Families, friends and associates gathered at the Later House of God Assembly, Ibafo, Ogun State to bid the General Overseer of the church, Rev. (Dr.) Jacob Adewumi Jegede bye to the glorious heaven on Friday 14 June 2024.
The late Rev. Jegede was aged 69.
Though it was a day to bury Rev. Jegede who died on 31 March 2024, the event was indeed a celebration of glorified life for a Man of God, who dedicated his entire life to the service of the Lord.
A God’s General, the late Rev. Jegede fought a good fight and finished his race at the feet of Christ. He lived a fulfilling life one worthy of emulation.
Speaking during the funeral service, Prophet/Evangelist T.A. Jegede of Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) Ago Adura, told the congregation that “this service was not for mourning rather it was a ‘revival service’ to celebrate the man of God who just departed to rest with the Lord”.
He enjoined the people to pray fervently to God for removal of curses on the life of every first born.
Different clergymen who spoke during the service eulogized a life well spent of the late Rev Jacob Adewumi Jegede who hailed from Ilesa in Osun State. A kindhearted man who was ever ready to help whoever comes to him for help.
In a passionate tribute, the church of the Lord he left behind, the Later House of God Assembly, Headquarters, Ibafo, described the late Rev. Jacob Adewumi Jegede thus: “As the founder and General Overseer of the Later House of God Assembly, he was more than just a leader, he was a father, a mentor, and a spiritual guide whose impact will be felt for generation to come.
“He embodied the essence of Christian love and devotion. His gentle spirit and unwavering faith touched the lives of all who knew. He was a man of spiritual insight and wisdom. Rev Jegede was a beacon of light in a world often shrouded in darkness. His teachings were rooted in the unchanging truth of God’s Words.
“Above all, Rev. Jegede was a lover of God, and he taught us to love God unconditionally.”
“Rest in peace, Rev. Jacob Adewumi Jegede. Your memory will forever be cherished and your teachings will continue to guide us on our spiritual journey.”
