Organisers of the 7th edition of U-17 Boys and Girls Taiwo Afolabi Southwest Football Championship have fixed 29 April, 2023 for the closing ceremony of the tournament.
Both boys’ and girls’ finals would be played at the Campos Mini Stadium on Lagos Island.
In the boys final category, Mighty Stars from Ijebu-Ode would face Andrew FC from Ikotun, while Bright Stars Queens from Ibeju-Lekki would tackle Wasback Queens from Mainland in the female category.
Speaking ahead of the final, chairman organising commiittee, Taofeek Ajibola said the organisers are ready to stage a a hitch free closing ceremony and urged the football fans to shun vices that can affect the image of the competition.
He revealed that the final is coincided with cup donor birthday, Dr Taiwo Afolabi (MON) who would clock a year older on Saturday .
“This year’s final would be better organised because we have put necessary things in place to make this year’s edition a memorable one. The finalists are ready, and we have contacted certified referees to handle the finals without fear or favour. I wish the finalists all the best in their outings,” he said.
