He is also asking the Fuji icon to pay additional M50 million as damages for failure to perform and breach of contract.

The letter dated July 1, 2024 was tagged “Demand For Refund Of The Sum Of Eight Million Naira (8,000,000.00) paid in advance for Your Performnce at Alhaji (Chief) (Dr) Yekini Adeojo’s Daughter Wedding On 29th june, 2024 and payment of the sum of Fifty Million Naira (50.060,000.00) as damages for failure to perform and breach of contract”.

The letter reads “We act as Counsel to Alhaji (Chief) (Dr.) Yekinni Adeojo who is herein referred to as our Client and on his behalf and instructions, we write you this letter.

“Our Client is a prominent and respected Holder of several religious, traditional and academic titles, a multiple award winner, a notable Politician of high repute, a successful businessman and a seasoned Socialite with a wide range of influence and connections in virtually every walks of life both in Nigeria and abroad.

“Given the above short and brief background of our Client, we were informed by our Client that he engaged you to perform at his Daughters’ wedding, that is, Mariam Oyinade Adeojo which wedding was scheduled for the 29th day of June, 2024 at Jogor Centre, Ibadan, Oyo State. Our Client also paid the sum of N8,000,000.00 (Eight Million Naira) into your Company’s Account with the name King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal Limited on the 9th day of January, 2024 as the condition for your performance at his Daughter’s wedding.

“It is common knowledge that performance fees paid into this Account are paid for your benefits and to secure your attendance and performance at the event for which the fees are paid.

“Our Client states that the wedding of his Daughter, Mariam Adeojo was the talk of the town as many friends, Associates, Acquittances, Relatives, Guests and well wishers cutting across all walks of life and from different parts of the World travelled down to grace the occasion. In fact, His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Oyo State was physically present at the wedding with many other Very Important Persons (VIPs) and dignitaries. The information shared by our client with his Guests was that he had secured your performance.

“Disappointedly, our Client states in spite of the payment of the sum of 8,000,000.00 (Eight Million Naira) to secure your performance at his Daughter’s wedding, you failed to show up at the wedding of his Daughter not to talk of performing at his daughter’s wedding.

“Our Client was highly embarrassed and ridiculed for your failure to turn up and perform at his Daughter’s wedding despite receiving payment for same and having informed his friends, Associates, Acquittances, Relatives, Guests and well wishers that you will be playing at his Daughter’s wedding.

“To worsen the situation, our Client further states that the payment for your performance at his Daughter’s wedding scheduled for 29th June, 2024 at Jogor Event Center, Ibadan, Oyo State was made since the 9th day of January, 2024, a period of over five months to the date of the event, yet, you failed to show up for your performance and deliberately breached the Contract between you and our Client.

“It is the position of our Client that your failure to perform at his Daughter’s wedding lowered his reputation and negatively affected his personality and standing in the society as a successful businessman, Industrialist, Politician and Titles’ Holder.

“Your action has caused great damage to our Client’s hard earned image and reputation and has exposed him to public odtum, dishonour, opprobrium, disgrace reproach and shame in the presence of his numerous friends and associates, acquittances, relatives, guests, and well wishers as well as other right thinkin members of the Society.

“Premised on the foregoing we have our Client’s instructions to demand for the immediate refund of the sum of N8,000,000.00 (Fight Million Naira) only being the amount paid in advance for your performance at our Chient’s daughter wedding; Payment of the sum of N50,000,000.00 (Fifty Million Naira) only as damages for breach of Contract as a result of your failure to perform at his Daughter’s wedding.

“Interest at the rate of 1 percent on the sum of N8,000,000.00 (Eight Million Naira) since the 9th day of January, 2024 when the said sum was paid into your Company’s Account till the day the said sum is finally liquidated.

Letter of Apology addressed to our Client.

“Take notice that it is part of our Client’s instructions that the above demand be met within the period of 14 (Fourteen) days, the date of the receipt of this Letter inclusive and in the event you fail, refuse or neglect to comply with our Client’s demand within the aforestated period, we shall be compelled to take necessary legal actions against you to enforce your compliance.

“Take further notice that you shall be liable to pay all fees, costs and expenses incidental to or connected with and incurred in the course of the official recovery of your indebtedness to our Client.”
