Executive members of Badagry Divisional Football Association BDFA under the leadership of Dr Martins Ibegbu Osondu on Monday held a meeting with club owners and coaches to discuss the upcoming BDFA Female League.
Osondu while addressing the female club owners and coaches emphasized the need for the importance of the league and urged them to see the league as an opportunity for the players to showcase their God given talents.
He disclosed that players who are playing professional league and championship would not allow to participate in the league.
He noted that the league is developmental and it won’t be good for any club owner or coach to register professional players for BDFA league .
“We are here to discuss how we can make our female league better organised and It is going to be eight league format where a winner would represent our division at the state league Known today as Eko Football League.
“Our league is meant for upcoming female footballers and any player who is playing professional league or lower league would not be allowed to feature in the league.We have decided to organise the female league September and later fix a date for kick off date,”he said.
He said the division is doing everything humanly possible to get the sponsor before the kick off date and urged the teams to begin preparation for the league.
Eight teams expected in the league are Clever Stars, Heros Queens, Diamond Queens,Global Soccer Queens, Great Stars Amazons, Ajegunle Queens, Joint Queens and AJ Queens.
