African Boxing Ambassador, Bashiru Lawrence Ali (OON) has felicitated with Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu on his 71st birthday which he marked on 29 March, 2023.
Ali, who is fondly called Bash Ali by his teeming fans and admirers, says in a message made available to Independent News Express that he was so proud of the former governor of Lagos State with his achievements both in politics and other areas of life.
The World Boxing Federation (WBF) cruiserweight champion also congratulated Tinubu on his victory at the last presidential election after which he was declared the Nigerian President-elect.
“I am proud of you, and I am supremely confident that Nigeria under your watch would be the best country in the world.
“Sports is one of the biggest industries in the world, so your Sports Minister must be a person who knows the game and who would be able to generate money for Nigeria instead of coming to you with cap in hands to solicit for money to run our sports.
Bash Ali recalled that “I gave you a pair of gloves when we met in Ekiti during the presidential campaign. The gloves are for you to knockout corruption and bad administration in Nigeria.
“If you fall short of my expectations to make Nigeria the best country in the world, then I will get my own pair of gloves and fight with you…lol. It is not funny so don’t laugh.
“As I conclude, I see you as the best servant that would ever serve Nigerians and proudly take us to the Promised Land. I am rooting for you so don’t fall my hand, please. Once again, congrats on your victory and happy birthday,” Bash said.
