Lagos State Commissioner for Youth and Social Development, Alhaji Mobolaji Ogunlende has expressed his full supports for the Badagry Divisional Football League which kicks off on 29th, June,2024, Saturday across five centres in Badagry and its environs.
The league is organised by Badagry Divisional Football Association BDFA in conjunction with RAK Development Foundation.
Speaking at the press conference organised by BDFA on Saturday in Badagry, Hon Ogunlende first and foremost appreciated BDFA under the leadership of Dr Martins Osondu for their commitment to grassroots football development in the Badagry and its environs.
He also thanked the football coaches who believe in the league and revealed that the RAK Foundation is committed to continue sponsoring the league.
“It is my great pleasure to be in the midst of the coaches and executive members of BDFA.I wish to reinstate my commitment to the sponsorship of the league.My foundation which is RAK Foundation has been sponsoring the league before I became a commissioner and i will continue to support the league as long God keeps us alive.
“Our sponsorship is borned out of passion we have for the youths in Badagry and Lagos at large.I will continue to use my good office to promote gender inclusiveness and youths development in our communities.
“Let me say that the Badagry league is not our own making, it is efforts of other stakeholders who made it possible to make the league a competitive one among the teams in Badagry and environs.At this juncture, i announce the commencement of the Badagry league and i wish all the teams best of luck,”he said.
Ogunlende also charged the teams to be of good conduct throughout the league and tasked the organisers to be fair to all the participating teams.
In his own comment, BDFA boss, Osondu thanked the foundation and Ogunlende for his commitment and finacial support for the league and promised hitch free and memorable league.
