Head Coach of JP Young Stars Football Club, Joseph Whesu has expressed disappointment after his boys failed to secure a victory against Joint Football Club in the ongoing Badagry Football League.
JP Young Stars played 1-1 with Joint FC in pulsating tie on Sunday afternoon which was watched by mammoth crowd at Ashiribo football pitch, Badagry Expressway, Lagos.
Whesu while reacting to the match said he was disappointed that his boys did not win the game but commended them for their good performance.
“My intention was to beat Joint FC unfortunately it ended in stalemate. It was not a bad match for us but I am not too happy for not securing the three points against our opponents,”he said.
Whesu said that his boys are in the league for business not jamboree but warned other group opponents to prepare for them in subsequent matches.
In his own remark, Joint FC Coach, Akporeha Williams described his opponent a well coordinated team and blamed his boys for their unimpressive performance.
“It was not an easy match for us but i thank God that we were able to secure a late equaliser.I think my boys underrated their opponents and they almost dearly paid for it.We have learned our lesson and we would be better in our next game,” he said.
Ismail Philips scored through header in the 62th minutes for JP Young Stars to take a lead.A goal from Muyideen Ganiu in the added time saved Joint FC from embarrassing defeat.
In other results, Haziland played barren draw with AUX FC,Froltish boys hammered Fluent Vision 2-0, while Paddysco managed to beat Global Light 1-0.
