Badagry League: Chekas United Hero, Faniyi Vows More Goals As Joint FC Crash Out

Chekas United Football Club goal scorer, Samuel Faniyi has promised his teammates and fans that they should expect more goals from him in subsequent matches.

Faniyi scored hattrick to hammer Isashi FC 6-1 on Saturday in the ongoing Badagry Divisional Football League.

The victory sealed Chekas United qualification into the round of 16 having occupied second position on the table with 10 points.

Faniyi who was thorn in the flesh of his opponents expressed gratitude to God for scoring three goals in the seven goal thrillers and promised his teammates and fans more goals in the subsequent matches.

“I happy to score three goals but let me say that my best is yet to come and i want to play better and score more goals in our next match,”he said.

Speaking in the same vein, Coach of Chekas United, Moses Udoh said the victory was well deserved but tasked his players to raise their game in the round of 16.

Udoh said he is worried that his players missed some scoring chances in the encounter noted that he needs to work on the team’s attacking line before their next game.

“It was a game we ought to have won because our opponents were not fighting for qualification but my worry is that we missed many scoring chances which is not good for a team like Chekas United,”he said.

Meanwhile it was a sad Sunday for Joint FC after they suffered 0-2 defeat in the hands of Inter Javed FC.Joint FC that thrashed Henzilion 13-0 some days ago need victory against their opponents to progress to the next stage.

Before the encounter, Joint FC management sure of victory but they met their Waterloo this afternoon when Inter Javed shocked them and booked a place in the next stage.

Other teams that qualified to the round of 16 are Power of De Cross,Young Pro FC,Diamond FC,Alaska FA,Young Stars FC, Golden FC and Inter Javed FC .
