Chairman Caretaker committee of Badagry. Divisional Football Association, BDFA,Emokpae Osahon has assured the football stakeholders in Badagry that the much anticipated Oba Akran Cup would commence soon across various designated centres in the division.
Oba Akran Cup which is put together by BDFA ought to have kicked off on Monday but it was put on hold following the changes in the leadership of the division.
Osahon in a chat with our correspondent on phone confirmed the postponement but noted that there are certain things the division need to put in place before the commencement of the competition
“I just resumed as a caretaker committee chairman and over the weekend my committee members met with technical committee of the BDFA and we discussed many issues affecting the division and we have resolved to put machinery in place to kickstart the Oba Akran Cup and other football activities soonest.
“Secondly we are still talking to our title sponsor and once we finalise with him, we would fix a date for the kickoff. I am using this medium to call on our participating teams to exercise patience with us and they should continue their preparation ahead of Oba Akran Cup and I promise that the caretaker committee would deliver,”he said.
In his own comment, Programme Director, Abel Sohe said the the leadership of Osahon is ready to deliver and urged the football stakeholders in Badagry to give the caretaker committee members necessary support throughout their stay in division.
Asked about his relationship between the immediate past chairman and his board members, Sohe said he has no issue with anyone of them noted that”We are all football coaches and we are working for the progress and development of football in Badagry and its environs,”he said.
Meanwhile the Lagos State Football Association LSFA recently suspended the immediate past chairman of BDFA, Dr Martins Osondu and his board members over gross misconduct and abuse of office.
