Renowned football administrator and sportspreneur, Ayodele Thomas, has charged Nigeria’s U20 national female team, the Falconets to go all out for the ultimate prize, by winning World Cup, for the country.
Speaking with journalists on the expectations of Nigerians as the Falconets begin their quest for global honours with the opening game against Korea Republic on Monday, September 2nd, he expressed explicit confidence in the team and their chances to make Nigeria proud.
“It is no gain-saying that our country is blessed with the abundance of and female footballers. Therefore, we can only expect the Falconets to go for the world cup title.”
Thomas, the Chief Executive Officer of TopPro Sports Management Company, with rich portfolio of managing footballers, as well as, wealth management, remarked that he believes in the abilities of the girls, as well as, the capabilities of the technical crew of the team led by Christopher Danjuma.
The Falconets, who were runners-up in 2010 and 2014, and are one of only four countries to have participated in every edition of the competition since its inception in 2002.
The Falconets, who are equally brimming with confidence, will begin the battle by facing Korea Republic in their opening match on Monday, September 2nd.
Two days later, they will take on three-time champions, Germany in Bogota on September 4th and play their last group against Venezuela in Cali, on September 7th.
