The Board Member of the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF) Dr. Ayodele Ogunsan was honoured with Nigeria Police Distinguished Service Award .
This memorable event took place at the just concluded NPF Annual 3-day Conference and Retreat of Senior Police Officers, hosted by Imo State Government in Owerri the state capital.
The Distinguished Service award came as a result of his laudable and immense contribution to the upliftment and progression of Nigerian police Force ovwr the years.
The presentation which was done by the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun happened during the Dinner and Gala Night session.
The conference themed: ‘Fostering Economic Prosperity, Social Integration, and Political Development through Enhanced Internal Security Mechanism’ , had in attendance top Police personnels and Distinguished guests across board of various area of professionalism.
Ayo Ogunsan receiving his Distinguished Service Award from the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, said its a special moment in his life as it will ho a long way to motivate him to do more.
The awardee, Dr. Ayo Ogunsan hailed the Nigeria Police Force foe recognising him and bestowing him the Distinguished Service Award . Visibly excited at the award, the recipient expressed his utmost joy and appreciation to the Inspector General of Police, IGP Egbetokun for the special honour.
Ayo ogunsan used the medium to reassure his commitment to the ideals of societal development and peace-building in Nigeria.
Dignitaries present includes; Deputy Governor of Imo state, Prof. Bassey Njoku; Secretary to the Imo State Government, Chief Cosmas Iwu; Former Inspector General of Police, IGP Sir Mike Okiro rtd; Senior Police Officers including all the Deputy Inspector General of Police and Assistant Inspector General of Police; CEO of Badinson Security, Mr. Matthew Ibadin; Influential security consultants; Celebrities among others are present.
Speaking briefly at the dinner, IGP Kayode Egbetokun noted: ‘It is the end of this year’s conference. It is rewarding for all participants and resource persons. We have had four editions. I had the opportunity to attend the first one as CP, the 2nd and 3rd as AIG, I didn’t have the opportunity of attending as DIG, and the 4th I am attending as IGP. I will say this is the best of the 4. I look forward to the 5th edition.’
He noted further that, so far, it has been a great experience for us in Imo state. Imo state have hosted 2 out of the 4 editions we have had, I thank the government and people of Imo state. We accept your invitation to come again,” Egbetokun said.
On his part, the Secretary to the Imo State Government, Chief Iwu thanked the Nigeria Police Force, ‘I appreciate the Police for the sacrifice to maintain peace and security in the state. Regrettably in the course of that, some officers have paid the supreme sacrifice. I thank the NPF in Imo state for the cooperation between the NPF and the Imo state government.’
The Dinner and Gala night is also an opportunity for the Police to reward deserving members of the public who have demonstrated immense support for the Nigeria Police Force.
