Ahead of Thursday’s group stage clash between co-hosts Australia and the Nigeria’s Super Falcons at the current FIFA Women’s World Cup, Prince Anthony Adeyinka Adeboye, Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on Sports to the Governor of Lagos State expressed his confidence in the Nigerian women who will rise to the occasion against Australia.
The respected politician and sports administrator told Nigeria Sports Centre that the determined Super Falcons could beat Australia and get one step closer to the knockout stages.
“The Super Falcons are good enough to beat Australia tomorrow. So far they haven’t done badly in this World Cup.
“The game against hosts Australia will be difficult but thanks to the determination of our girls we can beat them and go through.” Adeboye said.
Adeboye, affectionately called “Zulu” by his admirers, narrowly predicted the Super Falcons would win Thursday’s game.
