Chairman Chekas United Football Club, Chekwube Uzoegbo has tasked his players and coaching crew to remain focused when they confront GGSL Football Club in the final of Atlas Cup scheduled to hold on Sunday at the Nathaniel Idowu sports center, Ajegunle, Lagos.
Chekas United humbled Panpansa Football Club 2-0 in the semi final played recently, while GGSL also defeated Atlas FC 4-3 on penalty shootout after barren draw at the regulation time to reach the final stage.
Uzoegbo in his statement commended his players and coaching crew for their commitment to the tournament and reminded them that their journey to glory is not yet done.
“I thank God and my players for their final ticket.Initailly we were not given a chance to reach this stage when the competition kicked off but with the commitment and doggedness of the players, they shamed our critics.My advice for them now is to remain focused and deliver the trophy for our fans,”he said.
Uzoegbo disclosed that the players and coaches were motivated to do well in the final and promised to do more if they can win the trophy on Sunday.
He also appreciated the organisers for organising a football tournament of this magnitude in Ajegunle and its environs saying that the tourney has brought the best out of all the participating teams.
