HP Inc. is attending GITEX AFRICA, the continent’s biggest tech and startup event in its second edition taking place in 2024.
The GITEX AFRICA, which is currently holding in Marrakech, Morocco, amplifies Africa’s digital aspirations and achievements
HP’s innovations in personal systems, gaming, printing and hybrid business solutions align well with this year’s theme of ‘Creating a Bold Future for Africa’ at the Africa event. This theme aims to accelerate the growth of startup technologies to connect global leaders, technologies and initiatives that will advance African innovation. This growing trend towards hybrid operations shows that companies must adapt to the needs of their workforce to retain talent and maintain productivity.
The ongoing trend of hybrids comes as the world embraces AI productivity as new technology transforms business and industry as a whole. Artificial intelligence is expected to increase Africa’s economy by 1.5 billion by 2030, according to the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa.
Ertug Ayik, Managing Director of HP Middle East and Africa highlighted HP’s role in the second edition of GITEX AFRICA, saying: “We are delighted to participate in this year’s GITEX AFRICA, especially because we share the vision of creating a better future for the continent. This is at the heart of everything we do as a company. working with our bold ‘Future Ready’ strategy.”
Despite the widespread use of flexible work schedules, employees continue to struggle with a sense of disconnection and digital fatigue. HP’s 2023 Work Relationship Index shows that only 27% of employees say they have a good working relationship and 83% support workplace redesign. Workers in emerging economies appear more open to AI: 76% of knowledge workers believe AI will make their job easier, and 75% think it will make their job more enjoyable, compared to 48% and 44% in developed economies.
The business index also highlights that business leaders are leading the way in integrating AI into business processes as it can be a catalyst for business transformation.
More than 40% of employees are unsure when to use AI and lack the knowledge to harness its potential. The majority of business leaders and knowledge workers support education and information. Many employees see AI as a way to make work more fun and easier, giving them access to the right AI tools, training, and technology they need to succeed.
HP is, however, on a mission to demonstrate the potential of artificial intelligence to increase productivity in organizations. With the launch of the PC industry’s largest AI platform, HP is redefining the work experience with unparalleled capabilities and transforming the way technology interacts in the workplace.
Ayik said: “At HP, we are excited to be the company that empowers people to thrive in work and life –powered by AI enabled solutions that are adaptable and flexible. By utilizing the best data science, AI, machine learning, and automation –we are equally excited to be at the forefront of what AI can bring for our customers in Africa and beyond.”
