Ahead of the Asaba International Road Race holding on 4 October in Asaba, Delta State, south-south Nigeria, Independent News Express can report that the oryanisers are leaving nothing to chance to ensure that there is hitch-free competition.
More entries have been recorded by the organisers from across African continent most especially elite runners from Kenya and Ethiopia.
The Local Organizing Committee (LOC) is also putting all logistics together to ensure that the race is certified by the Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN).
“Certified route markers from the athletics federation will be coming to Asaba for route marking and measurements in the few days so that the race can be listed on the world athletics calendar,” Independent News Express gathered from the organisers.
The event, is being organized to showcase the city of Asaba to the world and celebrate the one-year anniversary of the coronation of the 14th Asagba of Asaba, Professor Epiphany Azinge, has garnered strong interest from elite athletes across Africa.
The Asaba International Road Race aims to be a premier sporting event, attracting both local and international attention.
This event is also a celebration of the Asagba of Asaba, Professor Epiphany Azinge, and his contributions to the community.
