A bar attendant in Owerri has complained bitterly that despite the victory recorded by Arsenal on Tuesday night when they defeated Real Madrid, it did not reflect in the sales.
The bar attendant who simply identified himself as Ananyo spoke with this writer and further stated that this simply meant that Arsenal fans in Nigeria were not prepared for the victory.
“We congratulate Arsenal for that impressive victory over Real Madrid” he started. “But that victory had nothing to show in sales of beer”.
“If it were to be Chelsea that beat Real Madrid by this margin, I am sure we will run out of stock by now and be apologizing to them for not having enough cold beer, but it’s a different thing here”.
“Yesterday, we still had enough chilled beer, with no order coming from Arsenal fans and this is not good for our business” he cried out.
“Arsenal fans in Nigeria appear to be stingy, they keep hoping to win and with the win yesterday we thought they would declare more”.

When prompted to comment on the second leg and the possibility of Arsenal scaling through in Spain but the attendant responded in the affirmative.
” I don’t see Arsenal not progressing” he continued. “They will scale through going by what we saw yesterday, they are an English side and it’s usually difficult for an English team to lead with this kind of margin and lose, so I see Arsenal scaling through” he concluded
