Super Eagles forward, Tolu Arokodare may not have been able to score a goal when he made his debut for Nigeria in the 2026 World Cup qualifier matches against Rwanda and Zimbabwe, but he has helped his side secure a massive win the Belgian Pro League.
Arokodare, who is the leading scorer of the Belgian league with 17 goals so far, added another in his side’s 4-0 win to take his tally to 18 goals.
In the 18th minute, he scored a goal that was disallowed for use of hand and five minutes later he got an opportunity to break the goal drought through a penalty but missed the spot kick as his side kept searching for the opener.
However, the opener came through his teammate Karetsas in the 38 minute which gave them a lead before half time to keep their hope alive.
The second half favoured Arokodare as he scored the team’s second goal and his only goal of the match to put Genk at 2-0 before two more goals came from Oh Hyeon-Gyu in the 88th and injury time of the 90th minute respectively.
Genk now have command of the top spot following the 4-0 victory and now have 37 points with four points ahead of Club Brugge who have 33 points and are in second position.
