An artisan, Mr. Ogunsanwo Mukaila, who was seriously injured due to the alleged negligence of indigenous construction firm JRB Construction Limited, has formally demanded compensation for injuries that have left him incapacitated and unable to earn a living.
In a letter dated March 25, 2026, sent through his lawyer, Barrister Ademola Adefolaju of Lords & Temple Law Firm, Ogunsanwo stated that he sustained life-altering injuries on July 25, 2025, during the company’s construction activities on the 13-kilometer Igbogbo–Offin Oreta Road project, valued at ₦1.7 billion.
According to the letter, a concrete mixer accident, allegedly caused by the company’s negligence, severely injured both his left leg and hand, leaving him unable to continue his primary means of livelihood.
Ogunsanwo revealed that while the company initially provided ₦3.65 million for medical treatment, he incurred an additional ₦1.65 million for urgent care. He also noted that surgical implants remain in his body and further procedures are required, for which he currently lacks funds.

The incident also damaged his motorcycle, his main source of income, which has been held in police custody since the accident.
Barrister Adefolaju stated that the company’s failure to fully accept responsibility has caused prolonged hardship and financial strain for his client. As a result, Ogunsanwo is demanding ₦50 million in general damages, as well as compensation for medical expenses, lost income, and repair or replacement of the damaged motorcycle.
The firm has been given a seven-day ultimatum to respond and comply with the demands, or face legal action.
