Wrestlers Thank Nigerians For Support

Nigeria female wrestlers on Sunday evening gave a good account of themselves as all the six wrestlers clinched gold medals in their various categories.
Nigerian wrestlers performed creditably well in the finals decided Sunday evening at the ongoing women freestyle wrestling at the All African Games.
In 50kg, Mercy Genesis defeated her counterpart from Egypt 7-0, Ogunsanya Christiana won her opponent from Ivory Coast 11-0 in 53 kg, while Adekunroye Odunayo defeated Hassoune from Morocco in 57kg.
In 62kg, Kolawole Esther defeated her opponents, Askar 11-0 to win gold medal. Oborodudu Blessng also defeated her opponents Ngiri from Cameroon 11-4 in 68kg, as Hannah Reuben also came out victorious after defeating Youin from Ivory Coast 10-0 in 76kg.
President of Nigeria Wrestling Federation, Daniel Igali, was full of praises on the wrestlers and thanked Nigerian and Bayelsa governments for their unflinching support given the federation.
In his own comment, Nigeria Olympic Committee PRO, Tony Nezanya also thanked the wrestlers for giving Nigeria six gold medals and charged the other sports federation to ensure that their athletes live up to expectations
Meanwhile, some of the wrestlers who spoke to our correspondent expressed joy and thanked Nigerian government and people of Nigeria for their support and prayers.
