Following the average performance Flying Eagles displayed against Uganda and South Sudan at the ongoing African Games, Chief Coach of Flying Eagles, Ladan Bosso has urged football fans and other stakeholders in Nigeria to exercise patience with his players, saying that the team would get better in their next game.
Bosso told our correspondent at the training session on Tuesday evening that his boys are aware of the challenges ahead noting that he is doing everything possible to ensure that their next match is better than previous matches.
Nigeria U-20 team would confront Senegal on Friday by 9pm (Nigeria Time) at the Accra Sports Complex. A win or draw for Nigeria would qualify them to the semifinal stage.
Bosso who is optimistic that his boys would do well against Senegal appealed particularly to Nigerian fans and Journalists to exercise patience with his team saying that his boys would not disappoint the country in their next match.
“I Know the feelings in Nigeria about our performance but as a coach, i am not too happy like that. Before the African Games we only have few days to prepare not even a month so the players cannot quickly meet the expectations of fans. All i am trying to say is that this is not the time to criticise the team instead they should continue supporting and praying for us,”he said.
Our correspondent, who watched Flying Eagles training yesterday for almost two hours, saw the coaches led by Bosso engaged the players on series of tactical training.
The coach worked on the scoring abilities of the players and he was impressed with the response of the players throughout the training session.
