*Profoot Academy Begin Title Defence With Victory

Defending champions, Profoot Football Academy began thier title race on a good note following their home victory recorded over Samjason Football Academy in the week one of the Alimosho U-16 Football League.

Samjason who played at away in Egan Grammar School suffered 4-3 against their opponents in a match that watched by mammoth crowd.

The away team opened the goal scoring in the 28th minutes through Fawaz Tajudeen but the home team quickly restored parity when Sunday Festus scored in the 38th minutes.

The second half was more interesting as both teams entertained their fans with football artistry.Muiz Ogunlade and Benjamin Oyedele from Profoot boys scored each to take the game away from their opponents.

Samjason who gave a good account of themselves throughout the encounter saw Thankgod Inyegbu reduced the tally to make it 3-2.

Defending champions, Profoot boys equally showed their supremacy over their opponents when Oyedele netted the winning goal in the 89th minutes to send their fans into wild jubilation.

Samjason who fought tooth and nail throughout the pulsating tie continued to pile pressure on their opponents until Inyegbu scored the third goal for the visiting team at the added time.

In other result, Sammy Academy played 1-1 with B United at Ijegun centers, while IGFC lost 1-4 to Future Stars at home.
