The Tajudeen Ajide Foundation has made arrangements to host an Under-20 football tournament in collaboration with the All Progressives Congress (APC).

This event, named the APC/Ajide Under-20 Championship, will take place throughout the state and aims to encourage youth involvement and support for Bola Ahmed Tinubu, along with other APC candidates.

As stated by the organisers, the champions of the tournament will be awarded a cash prize of ₦1 million, while the second-place finisher will receive ₦500,000.

Discussing the initiative, the championship’s sponsor, Honourable Tajudeen Ajide, mentioned that the tournament is intended to engage young people within the state and promote their participation in the voting process.

Honourable Ajide, who previously served as the Chairman of Surulere Local Government Council, emphasized that this initiative will enable young individuals to understand the policies and youth-oriented programs introduced by President Tinubu’s administration, such as the Nigerian Education Loan Fund to assist students.

Ajide went on to share that registration for the championship is set to begin at the end of this month, with matches anticipated to start across the state by mid-April 2026.

Tajudeen Disu, the chairman of the organising committee, indicated that in addition to the cash prizes, all four teams reaching the semi-finals will be given branded jerseys.

He also mentioned that there will be individual awards distributed at the conclusion of the tournament, including honours for Most Valuable Player, Top Goal Scorer, Best Goalkeeper, and the Fair Play Award for the most sportsmanlike team.

Disu urged the youth throughout the state to take an active role in the tournament and support President Tinubu to maintain the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
