Ahudiyannem Coach, Chiejine Reacts After 5-1 Victory Over Confluence Queens

Following the 5-1victory over Confluence Queens of Kogi,head coach of Ahudiyannem Queens of Abia, Ann Chiejine has thumbed up to her players who showed resilience and total commitment in week eight of the Nigerian women’s Football League held on Wednesday at Abia State.

Ahudiyannem girls who are yet to win a single match since league commenced were on rampage against the visiting teaam on Wednesday evening as the homers scored four goals in the first half to unsettle their opponents and scored a goal in the second half to end the encounter 5-1 in favour of the homers.

The former Super Falcons goalie, Chiejine, while reacting to the demolition of their opponents expressed gratitude to the players for their superlative performance against their opponents saying that if they could continue in this spirit, they stand the chance to avoid relegation.

“It was a sweet victory and relief for me and my coaching crew.Before this encounter,I have heard many things from different quarters but today (Wednesday) we shamed our critics.

“My girls of course were on rampage and they played beyond my expectations. It shows that we can compete favourably in the league and this victory would spur my players to do well in their subsequent matches,”she said.

Asked if Ahudiyannem could avoid relegation, Chiejine expressed optimism that her girls would not be relegated noted that their victory against Confluence Queens is a morale boost for the team.

“Despite our victory over Confluence Queens, we are still in relegation zone but we still have some matches ahead of us and we want to do well in our remaining matches so that we can avoid relegation,”she concluded.
