In a bid to create more awareness in the forthcoming The Mainland White Carnival scheduled for January 3rd through 4rd, 2025 in the Mainland of Lagos,Nollywood Star, Femi Adebayo and hundreds of adult youth on Saturday morning embarked on Health Walk as part of the programme lined up ahead of next month carnival.
The health walk which was organized by Larrykay Events commenced by 9am as the large numbers of youths gathered at the Abule Nla Junction to start walking down to Costain and enroute to Iponri area and moved to Tejuosho Street.
The health walk took to Murtala Muhammed Way as hundreds of youths were dancing and singing while walking as part of awareness ahead of The Mainland White Carnival.
During the fitness walk, Nollywood Star, Adebayo used the opportunity to take pictures with his fans who admire his acting and thanked them for their support and love showed to him especially on his latest movie, ‘Seven Doors’,
Speaking with journalists, Adebayo described the Health Walk a successful one saying that he was happy to be among the youths in Mainland .
He noted that the Health Walk is an avenue for youths in the community to reunite with those who have lost the contacts of their beloved ones for years.
“This fitness walk or Health Walk is part of body exercise and also the event really brought the youths together in Mainland.This where I grew up so I am extremely happy to be part of this fitness walk.
“Let me use this medium to thank my friends, well wishers and my fans for their support towards my career and I believe that the The Mainland White Carnival would be a huge success because the youths in Mainland are united, friendly and co-operative so I am expecting hitch free and successful The Mainland White Carnival,”he said
Adebayo also reminded the youths the importance of The Mainland White Carnival and urged them to shun vices that can bring the event into disrepute during and after.
In his response, convener of the The Mainland White Carnival, Olanrewaju Adeniji expressed heartfelt gratitude to Yoruba Nollywood Star, Adebayo for honouring his invitation and extended his appreciation to the youths in Mainland for their untiring and unwavering support showed during the Health Walk.
Adeniji popularly known as Larrykay described the Health Walk a huge success noted that the youths had displayed high level of commitment and dedication towards the preparation of The Mainland White Carnival.
He also admonished them to be of good conducts throughout the carnival show and assured the visitors, invited guests, sponsors,government representatives and residents maximum security throughout the carnival show.
“Let me thank my brother,Mr Adebayo who honoured our invitation.It is a great pleasure to see the Nollywood star in our midst and he walked with us till we finished.I thank him for making himself available for our Health Walk.
“I also thank our indefatigable youths who are committed to this Health Walk.I thank them for their supports and I believe that we have created enough awareness for The Mainland White Carnival.
“In addition the Lagos State Government under Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture is in support of our programme and we have informed the security agencies and other stakeholders concerning our carnival so we are all looking forward to the fruitful carnival,”he said.
Also speaking in line with convener,One of the youths,Modinat Ibrahim, Health Education Officer, Lagos State Primary Healthcare Board expressed satisfaction with the success of the Health Walk noted that the two hours fitness walk is part of awareness campaign ahead of The Mainland White Carnival.
She however commended the youths of Mainland for their resolute, doggedness and endurance during the fitness walk and urged them to remain steadfast and focused ahead of next month carnival.
