Ahead State League: Organsers Warn Teams To Honour All Matches Or Face Relegation

Organsers of the Lagos State League have issued a stern warnings to all participating teams to honour their matches or face instant relegation.

The much anticipated state league packaged by Lagos State Football Association LSFA would commence next Wednesday across five divisions in the state.

A total of 14 male teams were divided into two groups,while 10 female teams are divided into two groups.

Speaking at the draws held on Wednesday morning at the LSFA premises, Chairman State League Management Committe, Wale Joseph said it is wrong for a team not to honour its matches without genuine execuse saying that any team found wanting would be severely punished.

“We are not going to condone such act and if we found any team fail to honour its matches,it is an automatic relegation.Teams should be disciplined and ensure that they are abide by the rules and regulations, throughout the league period”he said.

Corroborating Joseph stance, chairman LSFA, Olawale Liammed Gafar said any team fails to honour its matches would would face disciplinary action from the committee.

He, however, urged the players and coaches to take the league serious saying that their good conducts both on and off the pitch could bring sponsors to the league.

Gafar also admonished the teams to shun violence and embrace spirit of sportmanship rather to take law into their hands.

He, however, said the committee is adhered to the rules governing the game and urged the players, coaches and supporters to be good ambassadors of their various clubs during and after the league match.
