A Lagos based semiprofessional club, Prince Kazeem Eletu Football Club have sent warning signal to their group opponents in the forthcoming Lagos City Cup after their impressive performance against Ojodu City Football Club in a friendly match played on Thursday morning at the Onikan Stadium, Lagos Island.
The Eletu boys are among the teams that would participate in the inaugural edition of Lagos City Cup scheduled to kick off on 1, July at the Onikan Stadium, Lagos Island.
In a bid to have a good outing at the event,Prince Kazeem Eletu FC engaged in a friendly match against NLO side, Ojodu City which ended one goal apiece at the regulation time.
Eletu coach Isreal Adegolu expressed satisfaction with the team’s performance boasting that his team deserved to win the game.
“The boys were better in the second half but our first half was not too good because my boys gave their opponents too much respect on the field of play.
“When we resumed the second half, they controlled the game better and their effort was rewarded through oboh.Ordnarily we supposed to win the game if we convert our chances during the game,”he said.
Adegolu also commended the two teams for their good performances saying that both teams lived up to expectations.
While Ojodu City coach, Olawale Razak applauded the both teams for their doggedness and fighting spirit exhibited throughout the encounter.
He said he was not disappointed with the result saying that their opponents were young vibrant team and gave his them a run for their money in the second half.
“It was not a bad game for us.We came here to beat Eletu unfortunately it did not work out as I planned.Playing a draw with a team like this shows that both teams really played good football.I wish to play them again in the nearest future,”he said.
Gift Anifiok hit the target in the 8th minutes to give Ojodu City early lead.Eletu boys gave a good account of themselves as they missed some scoring chances before the refree signalled for half time.
Eletu coach made some tactical changes in the second half which really helped the team. Raymond Oboh header in the 60th minutes was Eletu needed to salvage draw from their opponents as the encounter ended in stalemate.
